| Details | Did you know that there are over 55,000 homeless individuals living in Southern California and there are opportunities to serve in our community? The Illumination Foundation provides a multitude of services for the homeless. There are multiple shelters that provide services to different clients at the Illumination Foundation. One of such shelters is the Theriault House. It is an Emergency House that offers services to help homeless families. Theriault House is a state-of-the-art 9 bedroom family shelter that provides a safe place for homeless families with children 0 to 5 years old. Families can stay a maximum of 3 months and receive intensive services to obtain and retain permanent supportive housing. Theriault House offers more than just temporary shelter. Illumination Foundation provides a wide array of services that support the healthy development of children, including an early childhood program and various parenting groups. ASCE OC Branch and YMF will be collaborating to volunteer at the shelter to provide a special meal and fun group activities for the families staying at Theriault House. Please join us for this community outreach opportunity! Illumination Foundation provides targeted, interdisciplinary services for the most vulnerable homeless adults and children in order to break the cycle of homelessness. Volunteers who sign up will receive an email prior to the event with the address, parking information, and waiver to be completed. Attire: Comfortable and casual attire (i.e.long pants or jeans, t-shirts, closed toed shoes).
