The Los Angeles Section was established in 1913 and the Year 2013 marks the centennial.  A LA Section Board committee has been established to begin the planning efforts for this event.  There have been several ideas put forward for projects within the centennial that will provide for the year long celebration.

In the past the Section has undertaken some energetic projects.  We have sponsored two floats in the Rose Parade, one as part of the national celebration of the 150th birthday of ASCE.  In addition, we have successfully hosted two ASCE Society Annual conferences. 

Don Sepulveda is the chair of this committee.  Don’s committee will be working closely with the Section Board to develop an action plan as we move forward towards this celebration.  Don can be reached at if you have suggestions.
