Ryan Smith has been an incremental part of the Cal Poly ASCE student chapter. As a sophomore, he severed as Social Director, then as Treasure as a junior, and finally as President during his senior year. He will serve as the Alumni Officer as he is earning his master’s degree in structural engineering.  He has seeing the growth of the chapter throughout the years and has been a valuable resource to all of the officers during the year. He attended the weekly freshmen class meetings during the fall quarter to become a resource to new students and help them during the adjustment period between high school and college. He was very supportive of all SCE related events and attended them regularly. He has especially been an amazing resource as I am abroad by being my hands and feet at Cal Poly and helping with various events and activities. He is also a member so Chi Epsilon and Tau Beta Pi.

Ryan Smith has been an excellent President, officer, and leader of the Cal Poly ASCE student chapter. From his past officer positions of Social Director, Treasurer, President, and now Alumni Officer, he has been a valuable asset for the SCE officers. He has upheld the professionalism and honor of the student chapter and has excelled in his academics simultaneously.  The Cal Poly ASCE student chapter is very thankful and appreciative for the time and dedication that their past President put into his position and the student chapter to allow it to flourish, as it did.
