Details Civil engineering students come find your path in the civil engineering professions through immersive and interactive presentations by private firms and public agencies as they introduce the six main civil engineering pathways: Transportation, Structural, Geotechnical, Construction, Water, and Environmental.  The day will not just include six presentations by experienced working professionals about their particular civil engineering pathway, there will also be presentations from six public agencies sharing their experiences serving the public and what it is like to work on the public side.  The day will also include fun and interactive activities in between presentations and raffle prizes. Private firm presenters will share about their career paths, why they chose their engineering pathway, the projects they work on, and significant projects their firms have completed. Firms presenting include: Transportation – Mark Thomas Structural – DCI Engineers Water and Environmental – Huitt-Zollars Geotechnical – Engeo Land Development – Fuscoe Engineering Construction Management – Granite Construction Public agency presenters will share about the main objective of their agency, the interaction between the public and private sector on projects, their career path to the public sector, and what it is like to work in the public sector. Public agencies presenting include: City of Laguna Hills Orange County Public Works Caltrans District 12 Irvine Ranch Water District City of Irvine Los Angeles Department of Water and Power The presentations will be on Friday, July 26 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the state-of-the-art technological The Cove in UC Irvine. The cost to attend is $25 which will include breakfast, lunch, snacks, and parking at the adjacent Lot 70. Students selected for the full Pathways Academy please use the promo code provided to you. The Cove is the building on the left side of the Google satellite image below.  Parking is in Lot 70, the dirt area on the right side of the image.  Please not that the satellite image is older and Lot 70 has recently been paved.
