Southern San Joaquin
Robin Dicerson, P.E.
President, Southern San Joaquin Branch
Welcome to the Southern San Joaquin Branch (SSJ) web page. The branch was created in the 1970’s under the Los Angeles Section. The branch includes the entire County of Kern with a membership of approximately 200. The branch includes the cities of Bakersfield, California City, Maricopa, Ridgecrest, Taft, Tehachapi and Delano.
The objective of the Southern San Joaquin Branch is the advancement of the science and profession of civil engineering through education and outreach in a manner consistent with the objective of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Branch provides a mechanism for the cultivation of friendly relations among ASCE members, particularly through communications such as regularly scheduled Branch meetings and monthly newsletter.
Efforts are underway by the ASCE Southern San Joaquin Branch to prepare an ASCE Infrastructure Report Card for Kern County similar to the California Infrastructure Report Card produced in 2006. The report card will provide a letter grade and evaluation of the status of infrastructure in county that will help highlight the need to continued infrastructure funding support. If you would like to be involved in this effort, please contact Adam Terronez, GE or 661.393.8036.
To learn more about our monthly luncheons, public outreach, and special events call Mark Evans, Branch President at (661) 862-8852. To join and get involved in the American Society of Civil Engineers and the SSJ Branch contact ASCE Headquarters and click on the “Join” tab.
