| Details | Did you know that there are over 55,000 homeless individuals living in Southern California and there are opportunities to serve in our community? The Illumination Foundation provides a multitude of services for the homeless. The Recuperative Care Center is a 24-hour shelter for homeless individuals who have been recently discharged from a local hospital and are recovering from various medical conditions and would otherwise have no other place to go. Recuperative Care clients often do not get many opportunities to have a special meal or to have fun group activities. Therefore, ASCE OC Branch and YMF will be collaborating to volunteer at the shelter to provide a special meal and fun group activities for the care center community! When volunteer groups come to the Recuperative Care Centers to provide meal services, it provides the clients with the opportunity to experience a meal they would not have otherwise. Please join us for this community outreach opportunity! Illumination Foundation provides the individuals a safe place to recover from their medical condition while being linked to additional services beyond their stay with us. Event Information: This event will take place in Midway City, CA on December 14, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Volunteers who sign up will receive an email prior to the event with the address, parking information, and waiver to be completed. Attire: Comfortable and casual attire (i.e.long pants or jeans, t-shirts, closed toed shoes).
