Award

Description

The Union Valley Parkway (UVP) Interchange is a new connection from US 101 serving the Santa Maria/Orcutt area, providing a link to the new Union Valley Parkway. The interchange was designed by owner California Department of Transportation (Caltrans.) Project partner Santa Barbara Association of Governments (SBCAG) secured funding from local Measure A sales tax revenues as a match for State bonds. The modified diamond type interchange includes a northbound loop onramp providing a convenient connection for traffic approaching from the west. The interchange serves as the current eastern terminus of the UVP arterial, although the interchange was specifically designed to provide to connect to any future local road network that may be added east of the freeway.
