Sun Valley EDA Public Improvements Project and Drywells Implementation

Award

Description

The Sun Valley EDA Public Improvement Project is an innovative and multi-benefit project that involves the participation and funding of multiple agencies. The project incorporates a number of street and traffic improvement features that will benefit pedestrian and vehicular traffic along Branford Street between I-5 and San Fernando Road. The purpose of this project is to reconstruct and resurface Branford Street between the boundaries already described. In addition, the driveways and curb ramps along Branford Street will be reconstructed to meet the current City of Los Angeles Standards, and also in areas where the existing sidewalks, curb and gutters are in bad condition or do not exist, those will be rebuilt or constructed. The project also incorporates the installation of 46 drywells to manage the storm water runoff from a 167-acre drainage area. The main goal is to inject the storm runoff into the existing aquifer on the San Fernando Basin. This project is being constructed by the John S. Meek Company.
