Description
Benjamin Baker, P.E., was the 2022-2023 ASCE Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch President and has served as Treasurer multiple years, including 2024-2025. He serves on the ASCE Los Angeles Section Executive Board as Secretary. He is currently a Senior Civil Project Engineer in GFT’s downtown Los Angeles office in the transportation business group, public transit client and program delivery division. He is a deputy civil lead on the Brightline West vehicle maintenance facility in Sloan, Nevada, and a design lead on Metro East San Fernando Valley roadway utility relocations. Previously, Benjamin was an assistant project manager with Walsh Group on Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX Corridor K Line rail transit project, where he worked for over eight years, part of the time as Segment C Civil Manager. He has a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering and Project Management from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UCLA. He has been involved with ASCE since 2006, including as a former officer and project manager for the UCLA student chapter, where he serves as Practitioner Advisor.
