Description

The Eaton and Palisades wildfires destroyed 11,839 properties in Los Angeles County in January 2025. Los Angeles County Public Works led the County’s Debris Removal Taskforce to coordinate over 2.5 million tons of debris removal from nearly 10,000 properties in six months, along with over 20,000 hazardous trees, 6,500 burned vehicles, and over 5,000 asbestos abatements, all while preserving cultural artifacts and safeguarding environmental resources to allow the community to start rebuilding.
