Jamboree Road Pavement Rehabilitation

Award

Geotechnical Project

Description

The Jamboree Roadway Rehabilitation Project focused on rehabilitating a critical segment of Jamboree Road between Michelle Drive and Edinger Avenue, one of the busiest corridors in the City of Irvine. Through the innovative use of a cement-treated base combined with geogrid reinforcement, the team effectively addressed deep subgrade settlement without the need for extensive excavation. This forward-thinking approach improved safety, ride quality, and pavement longevity, all while minimizing disruption to the traveling public, a model for efficient roadway rehabilitation in high-traffic areas.  Close coordination with the City of Tustin was vital to the successful delivery of the project, given the shared boundaries and impact on regional traffic flow.
