Mr. Morris, owner of MORRIS Water Resources Consultants, has been an important figure in the water industry within Southern California for decades. A distinguished alumnus of the University of Southern California, he earned his B.S. in Environmental Engineering in 1972. His professional tenure includes over 35 years at the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) of Southern California, where his expertise and leadership were central in shaping the region’s water infrastructure and management strategies. He served as Chairman of the MWD Ad Hoc Committee on Energy and Desalination, demonstrating his approach and commitment to the industry.

Beyond his professional roles, Mr. Morris has been a devoted advocate for ASCE and its mission. He played a significant role in supporting the Morris Dam National Civil Engineering Historic Landmark Dedication, collaborating with LA County Public Works and the ASCE Society President. His dedication to ASCE is further underscored by his prior service as a former ASCE Los Angeles Section President. With over 35 years of experience at the Metropolitan Water District and a legacy of leadership within ASCE, John Morris is deserving of this recognition for a lifetime of achievement.
