Description
“The 2025 Eaton Fire caused extensive damage to the existing 1935 bridge and disrupted access for the surrounding Altadena community. Following progressive structural distress (cracking, delamination, and spalling at both ends of the arch) and eventual closure, LA County Public Works advanced a temporary Bridget restore essential mobility while the permanent structure is redesigned.
Accelerated geotechnical exploration and engineering evaluation were completed to support the temporary bridge foundation within challenging alluvial conditions that included gravels, cobbles, and boulders. The temporary bridge reestablished safe and rideable access for residents and businesses and provided an immediate community benefit during post fire recovery efforts.”
