Description
Outside of work Rianne has been active in various industry organizations like Engineers Without Borders, ASCE, EWRI, BIA NextGen, Floodplain Management Association Emerging Professionals and others. As part of these organizations, she has organized events, fundraisers, technical presentations and as part of EWB-OC is leading a team that is volunteering their expertise for a nonprofit affordable housing project in Texas. She also volunteers with Corazon building houses in Mexico and received recognition for participation in more than 5 builds and helped plan their annual fundraiser. Last year she traveled with Adelante Juntos to Guatemala to install stoves in rural communities and provide engineering guidance for future sanitation and water projects planned for the communities. Additionally, she volunteers at local organizations like Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County and The Nature Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo.
